Fillet is the bees knees of steaks and when you can buy ours from as little as £20 per kilo in our Butchers Shop in Studley, it would be silly not to treat yourself once in a while.
The fillet of beef is also known as the beef tenderloin, the filet, the filet de bœuf and the eye fillet in different parts of the world. Despite having a range of titles, this cut is always held in high esteem and is considered the best cut of beef available. It can come with a hefty price tag.

A Fillet Steak from a Japanes Wagyu can cost you $350!
What is it?
This excellent cut of meat comes from the hindquarters on the cow. It runs along the spine, beneath the ribs and is not a weight-bearing muscle. It has little fat or connective tissue making it tender, delicious and easy to cook.
So... what can you do with it?
Show off your skills with a fancy Beef Wellington.
Perfect for a dinner party or a very special Sunday Roast, buying a whole fillet, smothering it in creamed mushroom and wrapping it tenderly in pastry is the ultimate way to enjoy it. If you haven't got the time to dedicate to your beef, simply buy one of our extra thick fillet steaks and pan fry with lots of butter. Serve with chunky chips and some sort of green vegetable and you're in for a treat.
